Full-Mouth Rehabilitation
Full mouth rehabilitation is the use of many methods of dentistry to create the correct relationship between gums, bones, muscles, and teeth. The mouth is a complex machine; without a proper bite, chewing can become impaired, teeth can become worn, the jaw and neck can become sore, and even migraines can occur. Dental bonding, porcelain veneers and crowns, dental implants, and teeth whitening are all potential procedures used in a custom treatment plan for full mouth reconstruction. At your consultation visit, Dr. Cannilla will address all your concerns, current discomfort, and long-term goals to achieve a fully functional and absolutely beautiful smile. The evaluation process requires records of your mouth, and may include X-rays and photographs, models of your teeth that are made from impressions and a model of your bite. Dr. Cannilla will examine the condition of your teeth, periodontal (gum) tissues, temporomandibular joints, jaw muscles, teeth alignment, oral condition, and finally your esthetics objectives.
Because of the combination and complexity of treatments that may be required, Dr. Cannilla may feel necessary to refer you to a trusted specialist (periodontist, orthodontist, oral surgeon) for a consultation in order to develop a treatment plan that is best for you.
Once Dr. Cannilla has obtained all information relevant to your case, he will develop a comprehensive, step-by-step treatment plan to address all of the problems in your mouth and complete your full mouth reconstruction. He'll act as your personal consultant, providing options and information so that you can make an informed decision about your full-mouth reconstruction plan and devise a custom treatment plan just for you, all while making the process as comfortable and as fast as possible.
